Baseline surveys have been carried out and the planned transformation of cropland and seasonally wet grassland areas to enhance them for biodiversity and wildlife particularly wading birds is underway.

The site lies adjacent to the Upper Nene Valley Gravel Pits which are Important Bird Areas, designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest and RAMSAR.

Designated by North Northamptonshire as Areas that could become important for Biodiversity this project has a great potential for the area.
